Fujitsu ST6012 Tablet PC
When I come across a cool new gaget on the web I immediately want to share it with all of you so you can see and know whats new. Enjoy!
You have got to love all these new electric tablets that are coming out these days! One of the latest is the Fujitsu ST6012. I’m sure most of you are familiar with the name of Fujitsu. For those that aren’t, we have reported on this company’s products before, most recently, the Laptop4Life Program.
The Fujitsu ST6012 is a 12-inch tablet PC that comes with some very interesting features including a TFT WXGA display with indoor and outdoor wide views. It is also equipped with an integrated Intel Wi-Fi Link 5300AGN (802.11a/b/g/draft-n) as well as Bluetooth wireless.
Under the hood of the ST6012 is an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Ultra Low Voltage SU9400 and Intel Centrino 2 with Intel Pro Technology. As for the memory, it has 1GB DDR3 MHz memory, and 80GB S-ATA 150, 5400 rpm hard drive2.
As for the software, it comes with Genuine Windows Vista Business, Bonus Media with Microsoft Office OneNote 20071 and Microsoft Office Ready PC. It also includes a fingerprint sensor, embedded TPM, a Smart Card slot, as well as the Fujitsu Security Application Panel.
If that isn’t enough, the ST6012 comes with an integrated camera and wireless USB. If you are interested in this, (and how could you not be) it will cost about $1,999-2,579. Source: PC Gagets

Free Images to Bolster your Blog
I came across this article while blog hoppin and I wanted to share it with you all for I know it can be of interest to you all to help improve your blogging.
A few weeks ago, I blogged about a survey from MarketingSherpa that showed that adding certain things to an ad increases user responsiveness. At the time, I was focused on video; specifically how bloggers can use it to better engage their reader and even increase conversions if they happen to be an affiliate blogger. But video wasn’t the only item on MarketingSherpa’s list. In fact, the top item was images.
Images are a great way to give your blog an added professional touch. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words. And the best part is that getting decent picture doesn’t have to cost you anything at all.
Free Photos
A great source of free images for your blog post is Flickr. The site features millions of images, and many of them are free and of a very high quality. The free images are under a creative commons license, meaning that you just have to give credit to the photographer. A great way to do that is to add a caption to the image, and use the image itself to link back to the image’s page on Flickr.
If you’re an affiliate blogger, however, and you want to use a Flickr photo to help increase sales, you should double check the creative common license on it. Some people share content under the condition that it’s not used for commercial purposes. Granted, you could probably get away with using their images anyway, but it would be unfair to the photographer who is being nice enough to share their work with you and the world for free. Just think blogger ethics. Besides, if affiliate blogging is your bread and butter, the affiliate program that you blog for most likely offers affiliate marketing tools that you can use to get the same level of user engagement. These will often include banners and image that are perfect for showcasing the product you’re promoting by blogging about. And even if they don’t, chances are that a quick email to your affliate manager can get you the images you need to better engage your readers.

New Nokia N97 shares same slide out keyboard
The Nokia N97 doesn't look anything like earlier leaks have suggested and it's easily the most exciting device Nokia has announced this year. The design of the N97 might bring your thoughts to the HTC TyTN II as it shares the same slide out keyboard and tiltable display, but the similarities end there. The fascia doesn't look that different from the iPhone, albeit in white and having three buttons instead of a single one.The specifications are truly awe inspiring, starting off with a 3.5in touch screen with 640x360 (16:9) resolution and haptic feedback, a slide out QWERTY keyboard, a 5Megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash, WiFi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, HSDPA, 32GB of built in flash memory, a microSD card slot, FM-radio, FM-transmitter (for sending music from the phone to a radio tuner) and a 3.5mm headphone jack which doubles up as TV-out socket. The keyboard doesn't look like the best we've seen, but considering that the N97 measures 117.2x55.3x15.9mm (HxWxD) it's not a bad feat incorporating a keyboard, especially when you consider that the iPhone 3G measures 115.5x62.1x12.3mm (HxWxD) which actually makes the N97 narrower, if somewhat taller and thicker. The N97 weighs 150g which is a bit on the heavy side, although the iPhone 3G comes in at 133g, so again, not a huge difference.Nokia claims the battery is good for 1.5 days of music playback. The N97 uses the S60 5th edition OS which is the same as the Nokia 5800, but with some N-series tweaks which adds extra functionality. The N97 also supports various on-screen keyboards and handwriting recognition. It also supports Nokia maps and the new N-Gage platform.

Temporary Vista Files
Are you one of the many users now using a Windows Vista computer? If you said yes, then answer me this: do you use Internet Explorer 7 as your main Web browser? If so, are you having a little trouble figuring out how to delete all your temporary Internet files? We have preached on this topic before for Windows XP and it's just as important with Vista. (Just in case you're not sure, temporary Internet files are files used by your computer to save certain information about the Web sites you visit. If you delete them on a regular basis, it will drastically improve your computer's overall performance). Alright, with all of that said, let's find out how you can do this with IE 7 in Vista!
There are two different ways you can do this. First, in Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options and under the Browsing History section, click on Delete. Then beside the Temporary Internet Files option, click the Delete Files button. Click Yes to confirm and the files will then be deleted. The second option is to click on the Start button and type "disk" into the search box below it. In the results, find Disk Cleanup and click on it. Choose the drive you want to clean out and then click OK. Next, checkmark the box next to Temporary Internet Files, click OK and then click on the Delete Files button.
On a side note, another way you can get rid of your temporary Internet files is to use the CCleaner program, but I would recommend using the other methods first. Also, if you would like to view the files you're deleting before you actually go through with it, you can do so by clicking on the View Files option first, before going on to delete them. That way, you can see what you're actually getting rid of and save anything you need to beforehand. Either way, this is something you should do regularly so that your computer will work at its best. Now, go on and give it a try!

Raise Your Keyboard
Today, I have one question for you: "How do you feel about the height of your keyboard?" Okay, so that may seem like a pretty odd question, but believe me, it's legit for this quick tip! I'm talking about the height of your keyboard as it sits on your desk (or wherever you may keep it).
Some of you may know about this, but the rest of you may not, so I thought this would be a neat little entry for today's newsletter. Go ahead and flip your keyboard over on its back. What do you see? Besides some wording, etc., you should see two clips on either side of the keyboard. If you pull those clips out and then set your keyboard back down, you will notice that it gains a little bit of height. Wow, who knew?!
Those special clips are there to help you get the most comfortable feel for your keyboard. If it's better for your hands to be a little higher as you type, use the clips. If you try it for awhile and decide you don't like it, push the clips back in and your keyboard will then sit flat on your desk once again. It's just an easy way to achieve the best fit for all of your typing needs. Check it out!

Creative Vado Pocket Video Cam latest Web Gaget
In name recognition and sales, Pure Digital's Flip Video devices are as dominant in the YouTube-friendly pocket-camcorder world as the iPod is among audio players. But on paper, Creative's Vado Pocket Video Cam trumps the Flip models on several counts: It's thinner and cheaper, and it holds more footage.

Blogging tips you can't do without
I’ve seen a lot of lists that try to focus bloggers on the types of posts that really attract readers. Here are some that cover the basics...
Here are some blogging tips that you cannot do without..
If your blog is looking for a new lease on life, or perhaps you’re just starting out, take a look at these topics and make sure that your blog has a little bit of eveything peppered throughout!
Post Type #1: Motivational Posts
Do not underestimate the need for positive reinforcement. It may seem odd to you, but readers look for guidance on the blogosphere, especially within similar niches. Finding that post that get you over the hump, or breaks that writer’s block you’ve been going through really does amazing things. Whether it’s blog writing specific or life generalized advice, motivational posts can be a key factor in having readers spread the word about the positivity your blog exudes.
Post Type #2: The List Post
Lists posts are extremely popular with online readers. Why? Consider them short and to the point. When readers want quick information it’s easier to skim the list and find what they need, and it’s also a great way to share a lot of information in a short time. Lists can be Top 10, Top 20, or even Top 5, but they can swing the other way too with topics such as 5 Worst…, 10 Ways To…, etc. Give it a try and watch how many people will skim across the post.
Post Type #3: Trending Topics
Having your finger on the pulse of online media can really be the best thing for your blog. By staying on top of trending topics, readers will find your site with little effort. Not to say you can’t still write about what you’re interested, but in every topic there are trends that are really hot, and will drive a lot of traffic to your site.
Post Type #4: Controversial Post
Everyone has an opinion right? Are you sharing yours? A lot of people are afraid to share their ideas because they are afraid to drive away readers and possibly immerse themselves in controversy. Little do they know that creating buzz is not necessarily a bad thing. By creating healthy debates on your site, readers will flock to your site to chime in. In some cases larger issues can gain mainstream media attention further increasing the awareness of your blog.
Post Type #5: How-To Post
If you’ve got readers looking up how to do something specific, then readers will come to your site if you’ve got that specific they are looking for. Take the topic you’re writing about and craft a post that outline how-to steps from beginning to end. By holding the reader’s hand, and displaying your expertise, you’ve built an online relationship with your reader that will keep them coming back. They’ll also have no problem sharing your site with others to pass the knowledge around.

Coolest gaget on the internet
Gaming world is expanding at such a frantic pace that it is making more and more youngsters obese, blessed with sight defects and that geeky look that freaks the hell out of the normal folk. Despite all that, there is nothing stopping the virtual take over of the real mind with gaming consoles spreading the madness to a point where we have international contests with people jumping over the remotes! The iZ3D limited edition custom painted LCD monitors
take that experience a step further by making bringing the action to life with 3D effects.
Priced at around $750 a piece, the custom painted LCD screens come in 9 different themes and you will love each every one of them. For the 3D effects though, you will have to wear the 3D glasses and that is pretty much expected. You may not be playing forever with the glasses on, but the odd experience will give you loads of fun. It is indeed ‘Time to Play the Game’.s!

How can I create expandable post summaries?
The Quick Answer
Add tags to your posts to mark which parts you want hidden in the summary version.
Add CSS declarations to your template to hide those sections on the index and archive pages, but not on post pages.
With this trick, you can choose to display an arbitrary amount of text from the beginning of each post, as a teaser for the whole thing. Then users who want to read the rest of the post can click a link to see the full text. THis is handy if you have lots of long articles all on one page. Note that you'll need to have post enabled in order to make this feature work.
There are three ingredients that go into this feature: conditional CSS, a "read more" link for each post, and a modification for the posts that use this feature. You an find the links and tags and codes, and modifications for this at google help.

Blogging Tips
As interesting as the idea and practice of blogging is to all of us enthusiasts, it’s still lots and lots of work. And I think this is one of the reasons a lot of people drop out, People jump into the bandwagon, but then the zeal fades away over time simply because of the hard work required to keep posting content day in and day out.
Why are lots of blogs left to lie fallow?
Author’s Laziness and Procrastination.
People kept procrastinating. Too lazy to sit down and put their thoughts down on paper. And even in those moments when they did, they were too lazy to organize them properly for posting.
Then it was also a challenge to do the necessary reading and research to spice up and enrich the material.
Poor Time Management.
As a busy person, failed to allocate time in a tactical manner so as to accommodate their passion of blogging.
Low Prioritization of Blogging.
. We all know that if you want to succeed in anything, you must give it premium time allotment. Think about football for instance, can you win footballer of the year by playing every now and then at the school field?
Unpredictability of Idea Flows
A lot of bloggers have told me that sometimes they just don’t have anything to write on.
This is quite normal because ideas flow in seasons. Sometimes you have more of them than you can handle, at other times they seem to be nowhere near your mind.
Do you have any reasons more than the ones I have posted above?
You can share them in the comment box below.
Now, let’s examine some practical tips to assist you in ensuring that your blog is updated regularly.
#1. Set a Posting Goal.
Do you have to post something everyday? No.
Do you have to post with a certain regularity? Yes.
It is very important that you have a rhythm that is consistent. This is particularly important when you have subscribers.
I think that once a week is the minimum you should strive for. Three times a week is ok. Once every day is great but advisable if your traffic is big. This is because often times, you need to give your readers sometime to digest what you’ve already posted.
What of several times a day?
Not if you have a large readership of regularly online people. But then it can only be brief posts and tips that your readers can easily follow.
The most important thing is that you choose a rhythm that you can maintain and increase with time.
If you are running your site as an expression of your passion, that is, as a hobby, you still need to maintain a certain level of integrity, stability and consistency. But however you do it, ensure that enough time is allocated to this great passion of yours.

The Key to Making Money with Affiliate Programs
Making money with affiliate programs is not a difficult job but to become successful you must find successful affiliate programs. Each internet affiliate program works slightly different from other internet marketing affiliate programs and as such need to be treated differently. Internet marketing affiliate programs are used to promote a variety of different products for the sponsors who in turn pay percentages or flat fees to those who help generate the sales.
In order to find successful affiliate programs it is necessary to take time to conduct some research. Not all internet marketing affiliate programs will work for everyone, so you have to look at the internet affiliate program in terms of potential earnings. Making money with affiliate programs requires the members to have a product that will generate many sales and residuals that make it worthwhile.
Internet marketing affiliate programs that offer higher click through payments are not necessarily the ones that promote the concept of making money with affiliate programs. Those internet marketing affiliate programs may pay high residuals but if they don’t but if you don’t get the traffic, the internet affiliate program will not be profitable for you. Sometimes an internet affiliate program that pays less residuals will generate more traffic for those interested in making money with affiliate programs.
If you want to find successful affiliate programs you want to look for those internet marketing programs whose products have a larger target audience. Making money with affiliate programs that promote products such as books and CDs will be more successful than an internet affiliate program that promotes memorabilia of low profile artists and entertainers. You want an internet affiliate program that you can promote to your friends, relatives and acquaintances that will purchase items the sponsor of those internet marketing affiliate programs offers.
The quest to find successful affiliate programs can be long and tedious, especially if you aren’t certain what to look for in an internet affiliate program. Because internet marketing affiliate programs are so abundant, it can sometimes be difficult to find successful affiliate programs from among so many internet marketing affiliate programs. Often that means trying several internet marketing affiliate programs and choosing those internet marketing affiliate programs that offer the highest potential for success.
You want to find several successful affiliate programs preferably those that fit in with the scheme of your website. For example, if you are an artist, you may wish to choose internet marketing affiliate programs that promote artwork and other memorabilia of other artists. You can choose other internet marketing affiliate programs, but you are likely to be more successful with those that mirror the theme of your website. In addition, you are more likely to heavily promote an internet affiliate program that is within the same scope as your website.
You shouldn’t limit your internet income to making money with affiliate programs. These are good sources of income but even if you find successful affiliate programs, you may need to supplement your income with other sources of income. The success Internet marketing affiliate programs depends upon the consumer buying habits thus a depressed economy can affect your potential for making money with affiliate programs. The sponsors may also reduce the residuals of internet marketing affiliate programs when their profits are lower.
Using internet marketing affiliate programs as a source of residual income is an excellent choice. When you find successful affiliate programs do some heavy promotion that will allow you to obtain future residuals from your internet marketing affiliate programs. Try the affiliate programs I have here on my blog on the right side like MoreNIche, trafficswarm, inboxdollars, and the others I have posted on my blog. Just click and find out more about them. Thank you..

Vista on Screen Keyboard
How many of you remember talking about an on screen keyboard for Windows XP awhile back? Come on, don't be shy, raise those hands! Well, recently, several of you have been asking about that very same thing for Windows Vista. I don't know if a bunch of you just upgraded to Vista or if you just now remembered about the on screen keyboard option, but I can tell you're dying to know more about the Vista version! So, I guess the least I can do is put your inquiring minds at ease. Here we go!
First of all, to get to the on screen keyboard in Vista, go to Start, Control Panel and click on the Ease of Access link. Next, click on the Ease of Access Center link and you will then see all of the accessibility options Vista has to offer, including a Magnifier, On Screen Keyboard, Narrator and High Contrast. For this tip, we're just going to focus on the keyboard, but feel free to browse through those other choices later on! To begin, click on the On Screen Keyboard link and wait for it to pop up. Once it's up on your screen, you can start using it however you wish. You can use it to type an e-mail, to work on a Word document or whatever you may be doing. Just use your mouse to click on the letters and they will show up just like you were using a real keyboard. Awesome!
There are also some additional options you can choose from when using the on screen keyboard in Vista. Under the Keyboard menu, you can choose between an enhanced or standard keyboard (it just changes the way the keyboard looks), a regular or block layout and you can choose how many keys you want your keyboard to have (either 101, 102 or 106). Under the Settings menu, you can opt to have a clicking sound when you're typing, you can decide which typing mode works best for you and you can even change the way the font looks. There's even a Help menu if you need further assistance. The on screen keyboard is just something you can use to give your typing fingers a little rest. I love it and I'm sure you will too. Give it a try on your Vista computer today! Source: Steve at Worldstart.com

What does the term WiKis mean?
Ah, yes, the famous wikis term. I love this question, so thank you very much for asking. I think I love this question so much because of the answer, which just happens to be something I myself use quite often. It seems as if different types of wikis have been popping up all over the Internet these days, so some of you may have already briefed over this before. Either way, keep reading to learn more about the awesome things that make up wikis!
Just to give you an idea, the most popular wiki is called Wikipedia. (You may have heard of this one before). It's a huge online encyclopedia that always offers definitions, explanations, etc. on any term you look up through the Google search engine. Wikipedia offers up more than a million articles on all sorts of subjects. It's also among the top 100 most popular Web sites in the world.
Now, back to wikis themselves. All the other wikis available today are massive online resources that anyone can access. They are just full of simple, plainly laid out information. The simplicity is their highest selling point, because people just flock to simple things. Don't you? I know I do! I like to keep things as easy as possible in every situation. Along with the simplicity, wikis are easy to find for anyone who uses the Internet regularly.
The next thing that makes wikis so popular is that anyone who goes in and reads the information provided can edit it if they deem it necessary. If you feel there should be some changes made to an article, just click on the Edit link at the bottom and you can type in or delete what you want. You and everyone else who use the wikis act as a community to keep the information factual to anyone who reads it. Everyone works together to keep spammers away and to make sure everything stays reliable. Editors, writers and the administrators of the wikis also work within the community.
Some of you may be hesitant to trust the information from the sites, but that's where the community and the community tools come into play. The wikis provide a set of tools for anyone to use while they visit a site. Some of those include a revision history, a watchlist, a recent changes page, etc.
Some of the other popular wikis are WikiTravel, WikiHow, Wikitionary and SwitchWiki (and don't forget Wikipedia). You can find any of those and more by doing a Google search online. If you haven't already, check out some of the wikis. They are awesome sources of information and you'll be amazed at what you can find!

Learning How to Make Money Blogging
There are two major types of business models that
entrepreneurs use to make money blogging. The first
and most common way to turn a blog into a profit
making machine is to sell advertising to different
companies and brands who want to reach that blog's
readers. The second kind of money making blog is one
that helps a single brand improve its image by creating
positive associations between the blog and the product
in the mind of consumers. Both kinds of blogs can
make a lot of money, especially if the creator has a keen
mind for marketing.
If you are blogging with the goal of selling advertising,
there are two basic ways that you can go about
recruiting sponsors who want to put ads on your site;
you can let someone else do all of the legwork, or you
can do the work yourself and keep all of the revenue.
Within the first group, many people make money
blogging by selling space through Google's AdSense
program. The advantages of this program are numerous,
as it requires very little effort on the part of the blogger
or webmaster to begin raking in profits. However, most
people discover that they make less money through this
method than they had hoped that their blog would earn.
Selling advertising directly to companies who want to
put banner ads or sponsored links on your blog can take
quite a bit of time, but it is often fairly lucrative. If you
have a lot of contacts in industries that are related to the
topic of your blog, you may want to try to go this route.
People who have a strong background in sales and are
experienced at pitching proposals can make quite a bit
of money by renting blog space to interested companies.
The most serious problem with this model is that you
often have to build quite a sizable readership before you
can attract advertisers, which can mean that you have to
do several months of work before you start to make
money blogging.
As blogging becomes a more and more lucrative
business, a lot of established companies are considering
how they can get into the action. One way that
companies are capitalizing on the blog movement is by
having blogs that provide a kind of friendly face for
their corporation. Often, a company will employ an
established blogger to create a weblog designed
specifically to appeal to that company's customers and
to create positive associations with the brand in
consumers' minds. More than one writer who never
even dreamed that he or she could make money
blogging has been approached by a company and
offered quite a pretty penny for this kind of gig.

The How Of Blogging
What about the how? Bloggers invest significant time in creating and updating their blogs, as well as driving traffic and retaining their audiences.
One in four bloggers spends ten hours or more blogging each week. The most influential bloggers are even more prolific. Using Technorati Index data, we analyzed the posting and tagging behaviors of bloggers according to their Technorati Authority. Over half of the Technorati top authority bloggers post five or more times per day, and they are twice as likely to tag their blog posts compared to other bloggers.
From their use of RSS feeds, video, photos, and mobile updates, bloggers are also tremendously sophisticated in leveraging the available tools to make their blogs more robust.
Bloggers employ a variety of technologies to attract visitors. Top audience-building strategies include: listing their blog on Technorati and Google, commenting or linking to other blogs, and tagging blog posts so that they are more easily searchable. All of this hard work has paid off — half of active blogs attract more than 1000 monthly visitors.

Attention: I'm Back- Hurricane hit Houston Hard
Happy to say Im back online after close to three weeks without no lights or water its been hell. The Hurricane hit us here in Houston very hard, trees were down all over the place. On streets on the roofs of houses on the telephone poles and the streets well you could not get through some of them for all the trees on the roads and some of the streets near the freeways looked like lakes thats how bad they were flooded. I had not seen such a Hurricane like this in years and hope never to see one again. I was miserable without any light, all we had were candles or flashlights or lanterns and did I ever miss my computer and t.v. We all had to get water from places that were donating soldiers rations and bottled water and ice and you were lucky if you could get some ice. I used a small ice chest and kept a few sodas and lunch meat in the chest and luckkkkkkky I was able to find some bread before it was all sold out, also got a few bags of dog food.. If you wanted a Hot cup of coffee youd better have a barbeque grill or propane stove or some kind of burner you could use to heat up your water for your coffee. We also had a curfew put into place and youd better not be on the streets after dark or you go to jail this was because we had alot of looting all over the city. But today finally after three weeks its finally over a little while ago we got the lights back on Hellaluia I never realized how much I missed the lights and my computer and the t.v But now Im back and its back to DOGCENTS and you all know after a Hurricane like this bad one their are alot of abandoned dogs suffering who need food and shelter and medicines, I have several dogs of my own and they also are not eating like they used to because I cant afford it right now altho they are not starving. I asked spca and paws for help but they barely have enough food for the dogs they have so many dogs were left there or their owners left town because of the hurricane and their homes were destroyed or damaged and they can no longer afford to take care of their dogs which is real sad but many lost their homes and have no place to keep their dogs. I myself have sustained damages a tree fell through the front room and there is a huge hole in the roof that I hope someone will help me repair. Fema I hope will help me out. BUt it will only help with certain things and I need help in order to buy some food for the dogs and get them in some type of shelters, and get them some medicines they also need, especially one that has a huge knot right next to his pee pee and that is also swolln as big as a large hot dog I mean its so swollen it looks like a large sausage so come on people dont be so cold hearted please I ask you to please give me a helping hand to save these poor helpless dogs who cannot speak for themselves . I give all I can give but I cannot do it alone I need your help and support what else can I say to you all to help us out besides imagine and picture what it looks like after a bad Hurricane all the destruction, all the large old trees knocked down to the earth like if they were toothpicks and picture all these little dogs with dazed cold eyes wandering around scrouncing for scraps of food to eat trembling with cold and shiverimg with fear, lost alone, until I find them and bring as many as I can home and I try to find them a home but like I said I need your help you can make a difference . I need you to open your hearts up and to have compassion . Help me to be able to continue to help them. Thank you and God Bless you all. Lilyruth

Google seeks New Browser, News must Read
Google Inc is challenging Microsoft Corp with its own Web browser that lets users run many applications that once worked only when installed on local PCs, executives said on Tuesday.
Google introduced a public trial version of its new browser software, Chrome, which is designed to handle not just text and graphics, but more complex computer programs.
Chrome, available in 43 languages in 100 countries at www.google.com/chrome, has been designed to download software and Web pages faster than existing browsers. It even allows users to keep working when one of its windows crashes.
This represents Google's long-anticipated head-on attack on Microsoft and its Internet Explorer, which has three-quarters of the Web-browsing market. Google has backed Mozilla Corp's Firefox browser, which holds about 18 percent of the market.
Google engineers and executives call Chrome a "fresh take on the browser," a 15-year-old technology that is supplanting 25-year-old desktop software as the basic way users interact with computers.
"You actually spend more time in your browser than you do in your car," said Brian Rakowski, group product manager for Google's browser project.
Chrome was seen by analysts as partly a defensive move due to Google's fear that the recently upgraded Internet Explorer 8 (IE 8) could be used to lock out Google. Google's core business of Web search and related advertising depends on browsers.
A Microsoft executive said IE 8 gives users control over how and where they navigate, improves their day-to-day browsing experience, and keeps people safe from new security threats. Be Sure to Leave Your Comments! Source: Reuters

Most pay to post sites require your blog to be open for 90 days with consistent posting to qualify. PayPerPost only requires that your blog be open for 30 days. As we speak, PPP is going through and auditing blogs to see if they contain quality content. No one that I have talked to understands what they mean by "quality" content. Are they looking at the posts or the overall appearance of the blog? Several of my friends seem to be removing all of their ads and widgets from their pages because several of the removed blogs had quality posts and a lot of other widgets and such on their pages. I am not going to do remove mine as I feel like it is my blog and I am trying to make a few dollars and if I remove my ads-then what is left when I have only gotten one post from PPP? I know a lot of others have been with PPP for a while and have made pretty good money from them. But if PPP is removing bloggers due to too many ads on their pages and not removing them for poor post content then the advertisers are going to wonder where PPP's priorities are. If I were an advertiser-I would want quality posts as opposed to a naked blog with nothing on it. If PPP removes blogs due to other advertisements and the widgets that someone elects to put on their pages-then it would appear to me that PPP is monopolizing the blog for their own monetary gain. I may get removed from PPP for posting this-but I am just posting an opinion which is what blogging is all about. I plan to sign up for more companies as I go along as I am a stay at home mom and have to get some income from somewhere. Anyways, just thought I would share my thoughts on this subject. If someone from PPP reads this-I would welcome some feedback as to what is considered a "quality" blog and what criteria you require in order to keep a blog in your system.
Edited to add: I have since seen the criteria they are looking for and I wholeheartedly agree with the way they are doing things. They are trying to remove the blogs that are too cluttered with too many widgets and ads, background music (which is annoying to me too) and they are looking at the consistency of the posts-are they regularly posting, keeping sponsored posts separated by other posts so that it is not just one sponsored post after another, whether the posts are actual posts and not just nonsense, etc. Way to go PPP-get rid if some of the junk blogs!!

How does Web-Hosting Work ?
Dedicated web hosting is basically renting a whole server solely for your use (dedicated). It is much like having your own server but the biggest difference is you do not need a large initial investment to set it up. Dedicated web hosting comes in two forms. Managed and unmanaged.
Commonly, unmanaged hosting plans include hardware, operating system, web server and Internet connection. Managed plans however include the basics and pretty much everything else that the only thing you need to worry about is your web site and content.
Knowing this, you should carefully review your organization’s setup to see if you have the financial & physical resources to manage your servers. For most organizations, the higher monthly cost of a managed plan works out to be more cost effective overall. There would be occasion an unmanaged plan works best. In these scenarios the organizations already have a good support department but would rather not have hardware and certain software maintenance concerns.
Without needing to share space & resources you gain many benefits. Your web page will run better and faster because resources are used to serve only your web site and you can optimize the server and database for your web site. Another benefit of server customization is you get to install and run the programs that your web site needs, not re-programming your web site to fit the server.
You also have full access to storage, which is certainly a perk for a growing web site. Managed dedicated hosting customers also generally enjoy a better level of service. Many web hosts assign a personal representative who also supports a handful of other accounts. Managed plan customers get the freedom to build the web site the way they want it without having hardware, operating system, certain software, middleware, security, Internet connection, backup, power backup, staff, casualties & loss prevention even insurance responsibilities.
Part 2
Hardware & Connection
As with choosing the operating system or software, hardware requirements depend a lot on your web site’s current and future needs. We’ll give you some good basics to look for.
Processor Type
Intel is recommended for large web sites because it’s emits less heat. You should choose Celeron for small web sites and Pentium 4 for medium web sites. Dual Xeons are highly recommended for high traffic web sites to give you the processing power; more so if your web site uses a lot of server side scripting. On the average, processor speeds of 2 to 2.4 GHz are good choices.
Memory
Your server should have at least 512MB of memory for serving up your pages in a reasonable time. If your web site makes heavy use of server side programming languages (PHP, CGI, ASP) we highly recommend a 1024 MB minimum and high traffic web sites should have 2048 MB and thereabouts.
Hard Drive
Between IDE and SCSI hard drives, most would like to have a SCSI drive. They are very robust, and use little if no processor power making them very fast; an ideal situation for anyone but the cost is prohibitive. If budgets permit, an 18 GB SCSI hard drive is very sufficient for most. If you choose IDE, choose a 7200-RPM drive with about 40GB of storage. You might wonder why you need so much since your shared hosting plan only has a fraction of that and you still have left over space. Do not forget, with a dedicated server, you need space for software to run your web site. In a shared environment that software space is owned by the web host and not added towards your hosting plan.
Part 3
Estimating Bandwidth
Web hosts calculate your usage using one of these three methods. Per use, capped, or 95% use. Each one is quite different so be sure you understand your requirements versus the method used in the plan. You’ll need to first understand the basics. Data transfer is measured in bits or bytes. Here’s a simple equivalents chart:
8 bits (b) = 1 byte (B)
1024 byte = 1 kilobyte (kb)
1024 kilobytes = 1 Megabyte (MB)
1024 Megabyte = 1 Gigabyte (GB)
Data transfer is the measure of bits or bytes traveling over time. So, if you are told 1 Mbps it means 1 Megabyte is being transferred in one second. If your hosting plan has 600 GB per month you can transfer as much as 600 GB of data in one month.
To calculate usage, your host relies on usage reports such as Multi Router Traffic Grapher (MRTG). The report shows your web site’s average incoming and outgoing traffic. The following formula is then applied:
( Monthly Average incoming + Monthly average outgoing data ) /8 x 60sec x 60min x 24 hrs x 30.5 days = Total month’s bandwidth
Per Use Method
In this method, a web host calculates your usage in a month and bill you the price per Gigabyte, Megabyte or Kilobytes. Some web hosts charge in blocks of 10 or 100.
Capped Method
Using this method, your web host will allocate a certain amount of transfer a month. If you exceed it, your web site will either be inaccessible or is considerably delayed. While this sounds like a bad option, most use this method because it’s a fixed cost. You should get the plan with a little more transfer than you expect to use.
95% Method
In this method, your web host looks at your total bandwidth usage for the month. The top 5% of use is discarded. The remaining 95% of will be used to calculate your usage. If you have occasional usage spikes, this might be a good method for you because the peaks will not be calculated.
Knowing this, you need to go back to your current web host’s control panel to find out what your average use is. Add on a certain percent for growth you expect, and then look for a plan matching those requirements.
Part 4
Choosing A Dedicated Web Host
Having a dedicated server is expensive and not as easy to migrate as a shared server environment. So making sure the host is right is ever more important. Some of the utmost concerns you should have when choosing a dedicated web host is of course the company reliability and support. You should expect better, more responsive support than a shared web host. You shouldn’t settle for anything less than 24 x 7 telephone support preferably toll free. Find out how quickly the average response is in the event of hardware, connection or certain software failure. If they never had a failure, do they have a contingency plan in place? Check their network reliability. Verify information, as best you can; don’t take the web host’s word at face value. Take your time, ask around and talk to their customers.
If purchasing a managed plan, ensure server monitoring is included and your web host stays on top of security patches. Try to stay away from long term contracts and choose a month to month option at least until you know how satisfactory the web host is going to be.
Ask this pertinent information about your plan before signing up:
What it costs for additional storage space or transfer
What it costs for additional IP addresses. How many does it come with
What it costs for memory upgrades
Is there an uptime guarantee
What method is used to calculate bandwidth
Is there a money back guarantee
Dedicated hosting and other high-end plans are more profitable for the web hosts; so web hosts have the tendency to accommodate you. Negotiate and you might end up getting additional IP addresses or setup at no cost. Source: Askwebhosting.com
